Today our WALT was to KEEP TRYING. We talked about what this might look like and the words we might hear. Look at us persevering with some tricky rocket and space activities. We don't give up!
We had to make predictions about what was going to make a shadow. We used foil, cardboard, paper, clear plastic lid, plastic bag and wax paper. Next we tested our predictions.
We discovered...
* not all things make shadows (transparent objects don't make shadows because the light can get through them easily)
* some shadows are darker than others (translucent things can make lighter shadows because some light can get through them)
* if something is opaque it does not let light shine through it
We had a great morning working co operatively, sharing the torches and thinking like scientists!
After all our snow, we wrote some really COOL stories about what snow is by comparing it to other things. We published them carefully and added some sponge print snowmen and glittering dangly snowflakes.
